MLab started out as my personal mantra. It stands for ‘Momin Like a Boss’!

A little backstory, I was born an entrepreneur lol. I’ve started and/or been a part of a few different endeavors over the years. However, when I became a mom, everything changed. I wanted and needed a better work/life balance but I couldn’t find a job that supported this.

So, I taught myself web design and a few different coding languages and worked as a freelancer for a few years.

Being self-employed has been a rollercoaster ride. Lot’s of lessons learned. The biggest revelation was that the women I worked with didn’t feel respected by male designers/developers. Time and again I was told by clients that they felt that their ideas and requests weren’t being taken seriously and that they were being ‘mansplained’ to. This is ridiculous!

“11.6 million firms are owned by women and they generate $1.7 trillion dollars in revenue”

According to the NAWBO, 11.6 million firms are owned by women and they generate $1.7 trillion dollars in revenue. And with 47% of women starting businesses last year (Small Business Trends), it’s unacceptable that these powerhouses are struggling to find quality web solutions. Because let’s face it, if you’re not being heard, then you’re not getting quality service.

This bothered me so much. Because starting a business is hard enough without adding the obstacle of a difficult developer. The relationship between client and designer/developer should be built on mutual respect and good communication. Without these two key things, the client is left feeling like they paid for something they didn’t want. No bueno!

That’s why I started MLab. MLab has become so much more than just ‘Momin Like A Boss’. It’s about empowering women to reach their full potential, not create barriers to success. So I’m sharing my knowledge (and that of my team), to help women grow their businesses, acquire the necessary skills, and be the boss.

Let’s get to work!

Make your dream a reality today!
